SSBTi participated in theconstruction biodiversity database in Taiwan

SSBTi said today that its members and partners will participate in biodiversity and positive natural growth issues, and together make Taiwan a major advocate participant and contributor to the world's biodiversity issues, positive natural growth, and natural carbon rights. SSBTi (Supply Chain Science Based Carbon Reduction Initiative Alliance and Science Based Carbon Reduction Initiative Association) also announced its participation in supporting the National Taiwan University Biodiversity Database and LCA training, and is committed to achieving the 2030 Biodiversity and Nature Positive Growth Goals.

▲ Caption: According to this diagram, it is shown that biodiversity will achieve a "positive growth" result in 2030 (the result is no longer negative, but a trend of "positive growth]); Nature Positive is a response to the Paris Agreement's desire to reverse the trend of continued degradation of natural capital in 2030 (in a curve), with "positive growth" being the result and "positive impact" being the action.

Bio Diversiy has become a key indicator of CDP application and sustainability issues, and how to slow down the loss of biodiversity and achieve "Nature Positive" is the most important and missing part of the sustainability goal.

In the past, there have been a number of cases and practices of passive biocompensation, most of which have been remediated and compensated for the environmental and biological impacts caused. From understanding biodiversity indicators, to protecting and maintaining biodiversity, and achieving the goal of positive growth of nature (such as reversing the trend of biodiversity loss by 2030 and turning it into a positive trend), we need positive tools to actively carry out nature conservation and restoration work, which is the background and purpose of bio credits, including biology and related environmental issues.

SSBTi participates in the training and construction of the National Taiwan University's biodiversity database and LCA tools, sponsors the tools and data required by relevant personnel at NTU, and hopes to contribute to this issue, and at the same time unite all SSBTi members and partners to make Taiwan a major advocate participant and contributor to the world's biodiversity issues and nature's positive growth/natural carbon rights, Taiwan can help!

It is expected that in early July, we will cooperate with NTU professors to hold a world forum to advocate BioCredit+ and the topic of positive natural growth.
